The True Gospel
This series examines the modern false and powerless gospel in light of the true gospel as seen through Abraham, our example of saving faith.
1 Introduction
Later in life, I came into a new experience; a new realm I never knew existed except in the biographies of men long passed. It is from this perspective, this perspective of experimental knowledge of the way that works and the way that doesn't, that I wish to earnestly contend for the true faith and the true gospel message.
2 Eternal Life
The knowledge of God... this is Jesus' very definition of eternal life, and by this definition, oh, how very few have ever truly found eternal life! Truly, as Jesus said, "Narrow is the way that leads to life, and few there be that find it."
3 Salvation
The church today has made it a heaven or hell issue, and in missing true salvation in its fullness, she has propagated a modern hybrid gospel based on a man-centered selfish perspective, rather than on a God-centered eternal perspective.
4 The Call of God
There must come a time in every person's life where they hear the call of Christ, "Come follow me." No man will every truly be converted hearing another man's call; all must have a word of living faith spoken into their own hearts. All must hear the call of Christ for themselves.
5 The Call to Leave All
Have you heard the wonderful call of God? Have you left all to follow Him? Have you truly found the treasure that will cost you all that you have and are, and for joy of finding this treasure, have you set about selling all to have Him? Are you walking in the steps of our father Abraham?
6 The Revelation of the Cross
The cross is what God is seeking to restore to His people in this hour of restoration - first the revelation of the cross, and eventually the work of the cross.
7 Abraham Comes To Shechem
The revelation of the cross is the revelation of the love and mercy of God for you as an individual. It is the only thing that can conquer the human heart and will, and bring a person to true and complete surrender to the will of God. It is the only thing powerful enough to convert a self-seeker to a God-seeker.
8 The Work Of The Law
I'm always skeptical of people who hear and receive the message of the Gospel "gladly", as Jesus said, when there has been no breaking, no bitterness, no chronic or acute conviction of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.
9 To Your Descendants I Will Give This Land
For the law of
the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of
death (Rom. 8:2).
